‘Most saree adverts we see usually show women looking so delicate, decorative and well, stationary. When, actually women wear sarees everywhere and doing absolutely anything. They run, sleep, cook, party, smack sense into their kids, seduce lovers, go shopping , pick fights, do domestic chores, work in offices/markets/farms, travel by public transport, attend weddings, get married, - you name it. We have yet to see a saree - wearing women just sitting around looking fragile, doing nothing.’
Concept coined initially by Nitasha Gaurav, the saree was taken to a flower market in the streets of Mylapore in Chennai.
Styled with contemporary chic to a traditional look while giving the everyday situations of an Indian women a new edge.
